Cops in suburban Corpus Christi, Texas earlier this week stopped a tractor-trailer loaded with peppers and found more than $1 million in cocaine hidden in the produce.
Officers from Nueces County, the Robstown Police Department, and Jim Wells County stopped a tractor-trailer south of Robstown, Texas Tuesday, Sept. 1. While they were questioning the driver, he became nervous, so they asked to search his truck and the trucker agreed.
A canine team alerted officers to something in the trailer. After moving to a store parking lot officers began to unload the produce from the trailer, and in the process found what turned out to be 36 kilos of cocaine.
The driver was not identified, and the case remains under investigation.
